Visit by the Prime Minister of Denmark

by Hussam Mansour

Today was a good day for WasteHero.

In connection with the Danish governments “Strategy for Denmark’s digital growth”, the Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Minister of Business, Brian Mikkelsen and Minister of Education, Merete Riisager, came to visit our company.

The Danish ministry wishes to create a foundation for companies to create growth through new technologies, which is why they recently launched their strategy for Denmark’s digital growth, which revolves around the digitalization of Danish businesses.

The strategy consists of 38 initiatives, which are going to boost innovative hubs, digitalize SME’s, improve overall competencies for digitalization, use data as a driver for growth, strengthen IT security and provide a more agile regulation for businesses regarding technologies.

WasteHero presented a waste management solution for optimizing the infrastructure of municipalities using IoT technology in the context of smart cities.

We see Denmark as a frontrunner for digitalization and the integration of smart sensors in waste containers and the use of data can increase the effectiveness of waste handling by up to 50%, and using, for example, LoRaWAN technology, we are able to achieve a battery life of up to 10 years.

It was great to meet such engaged ministers, who were interested in technology and the opportunities that can drive the development in Denmark.

Innovation, business, and technology go hand in hand – especially when merged with government initiatives, the world can truly become a better place. WasteHero looks forward to a brighter future for technology in Denmark and the impact it will have on the rest of the world.
